Anyone know what Maui Wowee is? No? Neither did we until we were approached on Baldwin Beach in Pa'ia by a young guy asking if we wanted some "Maui Wowee". We looked at him stupidly and so he gave us the "joint toking" action. We declined the Maui Wowee. ;)
But Maui - WOW. It was even more beautiful than I remembered, and HOT! Luckily the trade winds arrived around the same time as we did, so the heat wasn't unbearable. We did a lot - hit Pa'ia, the coolest little town we came across. It has a very hippy feel, very cool. There we shopped Alice in Hulaland and ate the best pizza ever at Flatbread. We attempted the road to Hana (again) and made it about 4 miles further than last time, but unfortunately my motion sickness and fear of heights took over a little after Keanae. (Coincidentally, this is right around the highest point on the road.) Which is a bummer, but we saw so much cool stuff that it was completely worth it! We saw waterfalls (Greg jumped off one, and sat under another), climbed through a bamboo forest, dipped in hidden pools, and walked along hidden black sand beaches. It was so awesome!
But the real reason I was there to begin with was to take these:
Beautiful, right? :)
Would it be weird to ask for a pic of the bride and groom? The last shot is unreal.
